A musical by Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine

The bewitching Sondheim musical sensation! When a baker and his wife learn they’ve been cursed by the Witch next door, they venture on a difficult journey for the special objects required to break the spell. Cleverly weaving the separate adventures of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack (of beanstalk fame) into the complications, Into the Woods offers a touching, and often humorous glimpse on the perils and joys of happily ever after.

A comedy by George Abbott & John Cecil Holm

A classic comedy by George Abbott, the master of Broadway comedy. Erwin Trowbridge, a greeting card writer, becomes fed up with his job and family. He ends up in a saloon, where he falls in with three professional horse bettors. Erwin tells them about his hobby of picking winning horses, but never putting any money on them, and the three convince him to help them win big. Of course, complications arise, as does the hilarity.

This holiday musical comedy revue packs surprising twists and turns and introduces us to a new angel, a gospel soul singer who also happens to be a psychic manicurist.

A murder mystery by Frederick Knott

The classic mystery - A plan for murder unravels, leaving one fatal clue. This suspense-filled, cat-and-mouse mystery is a tale of deceitful marriages, money, love, and murder gone wrong. A long-running hit both on Broadway and in London, this chilling play inspired the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock classic movie thriller staring Grace Kelly.

Last presented at GLT in 1969, Hello Dolly! is the cheerful and charming musical comedy that’s alive with personality, shining with loving humorous scenes, and brimming with irresistibly happy and tuneful songs. Classic musical numbers include: “Put on Your Sunday Clothes”, “Before the Parade Passes By”, “It Only Takes a Moment”, and of course, that unforgettable title number.
